What a challenge
So much to talk about since i've been away..... i'll keep it short this time round tho, thats what got me into trouble last time.
Well this weekend, whilst all of the UK was burning in the sun, i was freezing to death on mountains. I took part in teh three peaks challenge which involves climbing Ben Nevis (biggest mountain in Scotland and UK), Scafell (biggest mountain in England) and Snowdon (biggest mountain in Wales). All in under 24 hours including travelling to and from mountains.
Well we started off in bonny highland Scotland. Ben Nevis was easy but my team was so slow :( Unfortunately its a team event so i had to constantly wait for the others to catch up. This was the easiest of teh three to climb.
Next up, Scafell Pike. The shortest of teh three mountains but the hardest to climb by a mile! The path is very steep and slippy and it took more time to come down from than it took to climb, At the summit the scene was like hell: blizzards, heavy showers, gales, in fact teh only thing missing was snow. The rain filled my raincoat pockets up and consequently drowned my fone :(
And finally, Snowdon. Very easy to begin with but about halfway up turns nasty with some rock climbing involved... we had no harnesses! We managed to complete the challenge in under 22 hours for which we gained a silver medal... yippee! We caught the train back down teh mountain to celebrate in Llanberis. Here, i got a brilliant massage.
I had a lot of explaining to do to my physio yesterday seeing as he's ask me to rest my feet after the gruelling London Marathon. I just explained to him, life's too short.
